Membership Information
Active Member Requirements

Annual membership dues are $50. Dues include membership in GFWC-Wyoming and GFWC International.

Members are required to attend at least six of nine General Membership meetings September through May. (Second Wednesday of the month noon to approximately 2:00 p.m.)

Members are required to participate in at least one community service program committee (listed below).

Members are required to participate on the Christmas House (Ways and Means) Committee.

Members must meet member requirements established yearly for the annual Christmas House. Christmas House requirements are included below.
Community Service Program Committees

Arts and Culture Community Service Program. This committee promotes and supports community projects that include creative arts such as crafts, music, literature, drama, dance, and other visual and performing arts that develop skills, awareness, and appreciation.

Civic Engagement and Outreach Community Service Program. This committee encourages member participation in the areas of citizenship, crime prevention, safety and disaster preparedness, supporting the military and their families; and assisting the needy, hungry, and homeless.

Education and Libraries Community Service Program. This committee promotes education through scholarships and projects for Laramie County residents. Additional programs may be supported for, but not limited to, overcoming learning disabilities, supporting local libraries, promoting literacy, mentoring young people, and encouraging lifelong learning.

Environment Community Service Program. This committee suggests activities and projects that encourage members to become stewards of the earth, working to preserve the world’s resources, protect wildlife and domesticated animals, live sustainably, beautify our community, and enjoy nature.

Health and Wellness Community Service Program. This committee provides resources through volunteering to meet and address nutrition, disease prevention, and physical and emotional care.
Christmas House Requirements for Active Members

Participation in at least one all-day Christmas House workshop or attendance at least two workshops (four hours each) held by room chairwomen.

Provide one or more handcrafted items for the Christmas House Gift Room with an approximate total sale value of $30.00.

Provide a minimum of six baked items for the Christmas House Kitchen.

Provide one baked item for the Christmas House Tea Room.

Purchase a $30 ticket package no later than the November General Membership meeting.

Work during the Christmas House for at least four hours. Newer members are asked to work as Booties Elves (assisting guests with putting on and removing protective shoe booties).
Activity and Social Groups
Belonging to activity and social groups is not a requirement, but a benefit of being a member of WCLC. Current activity and social groups include:

Afternoon “Just for Fun” Bridge.

Afternoon Bunko. Members get together once a month in the early afternoon (usually September-May) to play this “pure luck” dice game.

Afternoon Gourmet. Four cooking sessions per year held at the homes of participating members.

Book Club. The Book Club meets several times a year to discuss assigned books.

Evening Bunko. Members get together once a month in the evening (usually September-May) to play this “pure luck” dice game.
-
Evening Dinner Club. Open to couples and singles. Members are split into groups and dine at member homes four times a year, potluck style.

Ladies’ Marathon Bridge. Members partner and play in bridge groups.

Mahjong. A tile-matching game.
